General Manager - DoubleTree by Hilton Istanbul Altunizade


 

DoubleTree by Hilton Istanbul Altunizade is seeking for a pre-opening General Manager who will be responsible for managing the Hotel Executive team and overall hotel targets to deliver an excellent Guest and Team Member experience while managing profitability and guest satisfaction measures.

The hotel will be the first managed property on the Asian side of Istanbul. It is located on the Altunizade Junction of the main highway connecting both sides of the city via the 1st Bosphorus Bridge. The site is located less than 1 km away from the bridge. The neighborhood hosts the offices of major Turkish and International companies, as well as universities and hospitals. The location offers many luxury retail brands, restaurants and cafés with Capitol Mall, Akasya Mall and Emaar Square in walking distance. Altunizade subway station is located circa 500m away from the hotel and connects to Marmaray - underground train to the European Side.

The hotel will feature 240 rooms and 2 F&B outlets and will include recreational facilities such as fitness centre, indoor pool and spa.

What will I be doing?

As a General Manager, you are responsible for managing the Hotel Executive team and overall hotel targets to deliver an excellent Guest and Member experience. A General Manager will also be required to manage profitability and guest satisfaction measures. Specifically, you will be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards:

  • Manage the pre-opening and ongoing profitability of your hotel, ensuring revenue and guest satisfaction targets are met and exceeded. Forecast opening in Q1 2024.
  • Lead in all key property issues including capital projects, customer service, and refurbishment
  • Ensure all decisions are made in the best interest of the hotels and Hilton
  • Deliver achievable hotel budgets, and set other short- and long- term strategic goals for the property
  • Provide effective leadership to hotel team members
  • Lead in all aspects of business planning
  • Comply with and exceed Hilton Brand Service Standards
  • Ensure costs are controlled and revenue opportunities are effectively sourced and delivered
  • Manage and develop the Hotel Executive team to ensure career progression and effective succession planning within Hilton
  • Hold regular briefings and communication meetings with the HOD team
  • Respond to audits to ensure continual improvement is achieved

What are we looking for?

A General Manager serving Hilton brands is always working on behalf of our Guests and working with other Team Members. To successfully fill this role, you should maintain the attitude, behaviours, skills, and values that follow:

  • Experience as General Manager within a similar quality hotel
  • Possess strong commercial acumen and operations experience in Rooms, with experience in increasing profitability
  • Experience managing budgets, revenue proposals, and forecasting results in a similar sized property
  • Exceptional people leadership to build a new team to deliver results - bring a team together on a journey and instilling the Hilton culture and values
  • Strong owner relationship. Assertiveness and excellent communication skills
  • In-depth knowledge of the hotel/leisure/service sector
  • Exceptional communication skills. Fluent in English and Turkish is required
  • Pre-opening experience will be an advantage
  • Knowledge of Istanbul market and Hilton brand will be an advantage
